Hévíz is one of the best known spas in the West-Danubian region, in Hungary, and in whole Europe. Its thermal lake, a unique nature-created miracle, was formed tens of thousands of years ago, and it spreads over 4,4 acres. It is the largest hot water, biologically active, turf-bedded formation in the world, with the hot water gushing to the surface from a 38.5 deep spring crater. Owing to the plentiful water output, the water mass of the lake is replaced every 2 to 3 days. Regarding its composition, it is mildly sulphuric medicinal water with radon content. The water temperature averages a luxurious 33-35 oC in summer, and it never falls below 25 oC in winter, thus offering its treasure, i.e. natural healing, all the year round. Due to its special composition, the medicinal water and the mineral mud are excellently suitable for treating rheumatic locomotor disorders and certain gynaecological diseases.

While bathing and relaxing you can be absorbed in the sight of the ruby water lilies, their lighter mutants, and their Egyptian violet or yellow versions. Besides the traditional therapies like mud-packs or massage, you can opt for various physiotherapy and balneotherapy treatments, vital and wellness programmes, dental care, or beauty farm services.
The time spent in Hévíz will definitely be made memorable for you by the healing and caressing of the lake water, the glass of good Hungarian red wine tasted in the wine cellars of Egregy, the strolls in the parks, and the varied cultural programmes held in the town, by visiting the relics of ancient times (the church from the Arpadian Age, the Roman soldier's tomb, the ruins of the Roman imperial villa) or by discovering the Hévíz Town Collection.
